Default Riding on back of Wildland Apparatus

How many ride on the back of Wildland rigs fighting grass fires? Forestry rep was here and said that all riding compartments must come off of the forestry supplied trucks. We have them on all our trucks directly behind the cab. No front bumper mounts. Have seen those, you would have to be crazy to ride up front. We sure aren't going to walk the fire line. We'd all be having heart attacks. I guess we better be budgeting remote front mount nozzles in for 2006 & 2007. Until then we will be mounting some nozzles up front for temporary. We don't ride to or from fires just at the scene. Low side of transfer case.

I'm not sure that I understand the question.

Nope. Nobody rides outside the cab of ANY apparatus.

You walk beside the truck, or the truck stops and you around with a line. Put out some fire and hotspots, pick the line up off the ground so it doesnt drag, and then drive forward again. Others follow in a pickup truck etc.

Answer to "forestry rep" would be "thanks for sharing".
