Default Looking for S.O.P's and Structure

    Hello.
I have been tasked with converting our current Junior Firefighter Program (which lacks structure) into a Fire Explorer Program. What I am looking for is SOP's and other information about how other Fire Explorer Posts are run and what rules you abide by.
I do have experience with a Police Explorer program, but that was a few years back when I was in High School. If you have a copy of you SOP's or other information you think might help, I would greatly appreciate it. You can either post here or email me at j.mills@monmouthfire.com

    Thanks

ok i am not tracking here; you are saying your jr. program lacks structure, so you want to move to a explorer post. that is not the answer because you have to have the same amount of structure in a explorer post as you do a jr. program. i have had these same problems and worked through it. i am up to date on both of these programs and if you can explain your situation to me i will be happy to help. contact me here or email (dblh89@aol.com) or AIM dblh89.

Ok here is the situation. We currently have a Jr. program, which pretty much means that a 16yr old can come to the meetings, trainings and to the scene when needed. No one controls the Jrs and they have no training themselves. Lately we have had younger people who want to join but our insurance policy limits Jr. Firemen to 16 and up.

I am not currently involved with this program, as there is no one really involved with it. So at the last meeting they were arguing over 2 15 yr olds who wanted to be jrs I stepped up and suggested that we do an explorer program, and that I would step in as an advisor. With an explorer program we can accept younger members and step away towards a more organized group as we will have advisors assigned.
