ok, so i know i could just do a search, but why would you get one for use on an active helmet? I can understand on a helmet that stays on your wall or fireplace, but one that goes into a building? your going to spend $100+ on a shield, that will get ruined from use.

I have a custom shield (cost me $35) but it's no different than the type my FD has. I just wanted one with FF/EMT and my last name on it for when I purchased my own helmet.

In 30 years when I'm ready to retire, maybe I will buy one for the helmet (and keep my old shields around the helmet), but I can't see spending the money on one that will get ruined at the next fire.
If my basic HazMat training has taught me nothing else, it's that if you see a glowing green monkey running away from something, follow that monkey!

Yes, I do want one for use on an active helmet. I have seen some that are painted (which is what I want) on active helmets that dont get ruined, but all Ive been able to find are 2 websites. Just looking for more options is all.

Go with Sam Brown Shields. He does great work.

You can see presentation shields he made for our department.

Pretty sure this is discussed in the off-duty forums in the past 2 weeks. But to save the effort of what I posted there. There is someone selling them made to order on e-bay- painted around $50-60, not 100% on the price but that should be close. I am not recomending them because I haven't seen any, however I am thinking of getting one myself to see if they are any good. If anyone picks one up in the mean time please let me know what you think of them.
