LONDON, ENGLAND

SUNDAY 18 DECEMBER

10.00:Willenhall Drive fire update

Fire investigation officers and Police forensic officers are continuing to examine the scene of Saturday morning's fire in Willenhall Drive, Hayes. These investigations are likely to be protracted because of the severe damage to the property.

Lower Edmonton – shop fire
Four fire engines and around twenty firefighters were called to a blaze at a shop on Fore Street in Lower Edmonton this afternoon. Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire using two hosereels and prevented the blaze from spreading to surrounding properties. A man was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews suffering from shock. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Brigade was called at 1201 and the fire was under control by 1332. Firefighters from Edmonton and Tottenham fire stations attended the scene.

Marylebone – Supermarket blaze
Four fire engines and around twenty firefighters were called to a fire at a supermarket on Goodge Street in Marylebone last night. The fire damaged part of the basement and fire crews acted quickly to stop the fire spreading. The Brigade was called at 2028 and the fire was under control by 2106. Firefighters from Soho and Euston fire stations attended the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
