Many fire departments in New Jersey, New york, & Pa are spending over $ 425,000 on new pumper apparatus with every option that a truck builder can install. Any stock custom pumper with a 1500 gpm pump , 6- man cab ,Etc. will get the firefighters to a fire and work just as well as a super " bling- bling " pumper! we went with a engine that our fire district could afford without leasing or going for a 10-15 year loan. When our truck went out for bid , Pierce Enforcer, ALF Metro, Sutphen where in the $ 275,000 - $ 300,000 price range.

There is nothing wrong with spending $450,000 on a pump if you can afford and justify it.

XYZ FD in Colorado, Utah, etc. can easily justify a high end chassis with 500 HP.

As long as it does'nt have rear wheel spinners.

Mechanicstown certianly has some "bling-bling" fire trucks.
