Default NFPA recomendations for FFs and portable radios

Does anyone know what NFPA, IAFF, IAFC, etc recommend as far as each firefighter having a portable radio or not? Any and all information would be greatly appreciated, as I'm beginning to write a grant proposal for additional radios.

Thanks for any and all help!

NFPA recommends that every firefighter on the fire ground have a personal radio, not sure what standard, i think it might be 1500

I am not sure if it is an NFPA standard but it is a NIOSH recommendation.

It's pretty good common sense too. I don't think everyone working outside needs on but anyone that is interior or otherwise in an IDLH atmosphere should have one. The long standing logic of just the crew leader having one is gone with the wind and rightfully so. What good is the crew leader's radio if the third guy in falls through the floor?
Even the burger-flippers at McDonald's probably have some McWackers.

Can you, by chance, provide the NIOSH recommendation document? I plan on using that as a supporting reference in my grant proposal.

    Thanks, everyone, for your help!
