    Default New Mack MR

My department is looking at specing a new engine and we have some tight turns and we have discussed a Mack MR cab and chassis. We haven't seen a new model anywhere or who would even make one. if anyone has a newer model (2000-present) we would appreciate the input.

You should be able to get any manufacuter to use them. I don't know why they'd be any different from any other commercial offering. I know Ferrara is building alot of FDNY stuff on the MR's and I think it was 4 Guys who recently (last couple years) built a heavy rescue on an MR for a department a couple hours from here. I also think Frieghtliner/Sterling offer a COE Chassis comparable to the Mack (I'd take the Mack IMHO)

Goto the Ferrara site at http://www.ferrarafire.com/apparatus...ies/index.html
click on "Pumpers" and scroll down to H-2849 and you will see the 5 Mack MR Chassis that were delivered to FDNY.

    Default Mack MR's for FDNY

These units are not actually pumpers and indicated by the location their shown. They're actually the new Satelite units, a large monitor and minifold on wheels. They have a large hosebed with LDH and quit a bit of compartment space but they have no pumps nor do they carry any water!

That may be the ugliest chassis I have ever seen!

The Charlottesville-Albemarle (VA) Rescue Squad runs a very impressive fleet of apparatus, including this 2003 Mack MR/Pierce USAR rig:

Here's the Freightshaker as mentioned: http://www.emergencyrigs.net/viewpho...=288&Size=med_

    I'd reccomend the Mack!

Keep in mind Pierce, and Seagrave build a 3 man custom cab also, and i'm sure somebody else would aslo, but the Mack is just classic, too bad they still don't make the CF.

    Default Sutphen

The Mack that was on Sutphens website has since sold. They will build on the commercial chassis of your choice at the Sutphen East location in White Plains N.Y. Let me know if you need any more info and I'll get you in touch with the right people.

    Thumbs up

Look on the web site www.Hmetruck.com and you will find a custom chassis the ( HME 1871 - SFO ) short front overhang , with a 45- degree steering cramp angle for tight turns and seating for 5-6 man cab! the mack mc cab will only carry 2- firefighters.
