Enfield – pub fire

Six fire engines and around thirty firefighters were called to a fire at a public house on South Ordnance Road in Enfield yesterday morning. The blaze destroyed the majority of the roof and there was substantial fire and smoke damage to the rest of the building. The Brigade was called at 0855 and the fire was under control by 1120. Fire crews from Enfield, Chingford, Tottenham, Leytonstone and Woodford fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Hackney – church blaze
Fire crews were called to a fire at a church on Lower Clapton Road in Hackney yesterday morning. The fire started in the electrical mains room and the blaze damaged the ducting between the ground floor and first floor. The Brigade was called at 1030 and the fire was under control by 1219. Six fire engines and thirty firefighters from Stoke Newington, Homerton, Kingsland, Leyton, Islington and Whitechapel fire stations attended the incident.

Harrow – disused post office fire
Four fire engines and around twenty firefighters were called to a blaze at a disused post office on College Road in Harrow yesterday afternoon. The fire caused heavy smoke which damaged the whole of the basement. Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus used three hosereels to put the fire out. The Brigade was called at 1259 and the fire was under control by 1450. Firefighters from Hillingdon, Wembley and Willesden fire stations attended. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Harrow – processing plant blaze
Fire crews were called to a fire at a processing plant on Headstone Drive in Harrow yesterday morning. The fire completely gutted an extractor unit on the roof and there was heavy smoke throughout the property.
A number of people evacuated the building before the Brigade arrived. A man was treated by onsite medical staff suffering from smoke inhalation. The Brigade was called at 1120 and the fire was under control by 1253. Four fire engines and around twenty firefighters from Harrow, Stanmore and Northolt fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

CAMDEN, NJ


Camden New Jersey Fire Department will be honoring three fallen fire fighters who were killed at the Sixth Regiment Armory Fire at West and Mickle Streets on March 16, 1906.

We have found that one of the members is buried in an unmarked grave at the Evergreen Cemetery in Camden. A fund has been established to buy one fallen member a head stone to mark his grave and to upgrade the other two firemen. One was from Engine Co. 1 and two were from Ladder Co. 2. We have made up 200 special Fire Department tee shirts commemorating this 100th Anniversary of this tragic fire. There is alot more to the story about this fire and the events. Some are actually ghostly in nature relating to things that happened before and after the fire more info forthcoming about this.

The tee shirts are available now and are selling very quickly and we anticipate a fast Sell Out. They come in all sizes from Medium, Large, EXlarge, XXlarge, XXXlarge. They are $20.00 each if picked up---$5.00 shipping charge for mailing.
