    Default Psych Testing

What should a candidate expect going into a Physcological exam?

I've taken a poly before, but I don't know what to expect from the psych exam. I do know that they are rough. I did hear that 7 of the top 10 candidates for Peoria FD failed the psych. Makes me nervous.

The psych eval that I recently went through was about 4 hours total. 3 hours of written tests, which included a quasi-intelligence test, and a couple personality tests including the MMPI-2 (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory). The last hour was sitting down with a psychologist and going over stuff like background, why you want to be a firefighter, and the results of your tests. Not a big deal, just make sure that your answers are consistent with any info you have previously given. And you'll probably get a cramp in your hand from all the filling in circles on the test.
