and thank you for taking the time to read my thread. Over the past few years I have become more and more interested in becoming a firefighter. I'm 28 years old and I live in the suburbs of Chicago. I'm realizing how competitive and difficult it can be to get your foot into the door. As of right now, I have just finished 2 bachelors degrees. One of them is in Human Resources, the other in Management. I don't know if that's a plus (though I don't see how it could be a minus). Anybody care to explain how it might play a role in helping me get started? Also, I'm looking into EMT classes at my local community college. I guess I'm just interested in some specifics if anybody can help me out a little. That would be appreciated. Thank you.
