Town of Saratoga, NY (January 16, 2006) --- In a move designed to greatly increase the visibility of the fire department in the community, the Quaker Springs Fire Department launched its Portal Web site located at www.qsfd.com.
The Quaker Springs Fire Portal – www.qsfd.com – is an effort to increase recruiting for the fire department and better communicate with the community. The site was funded through the successful letter campaign that the department conducted in August, 2005.
The idea for the site began approximately a year ago when the Recruiting and Retention task force came to the conclusion that Quaker Springs Fire Department needed a comprehensive Web site to inform and educate the community about the activities and opportunities in the department.
“The Quaker Springs Fire Portal is a great opportunity to communicate with the community and share with them the important, exciting and at times enjoyable activities that their fire department participates in,” said Captain Mark Connolly, recruiting and retention chair. “At times, people are afraid to visit the firehouse to ask about volunteer opportunities but this new website will allow them see the opportunities with the department.”
The Quaker Springs Fire Department protects life and property in the Town of Saratoga. For more information about the Quaker Springs Fire Department visit www.qsfd.com or stop by the firehouse on Thursday nights.
