Fire extinguisher service contractor
Looking for some advice.
What does a fire extinguisher service contract typically cost.
What code governs it....
I know nfpa 10.
But who requires the extinguishers osha, the insurance company or just the city and nfpa 10.
I know there are companies out there that do this service and i was just wondering how they are accredited, their cost and where there business comes from.

Today a fire extinguisher contractor and I are out at tribal buildings doing the annuals on extinguisher and our opinion is that the authority having jurisdiction (ahj) is written right into NFPA 10 that they will have the last say on the extinguishers. The contractor is accrediated by certain manufacturers and trained on their types of products and equipment and in Michigan they have to be licensed by the state for that type of work. Hydro testing now they are D.O.T. certified for that type of work. Typically you can find them listed in the yellow pages of the phone book or by word of mouth in the fire service as to who does what and to the qquality of the work. Prices will vary!
