    Default Department Websites

Hi guys. I want to get some forums setup for our local department. AlbanyEMS on here and I will be working on this project and I wondered if anyone has a local website and any suggestions for things to put up. I want to get some form of schedule added (training, meetings, whats being covered, what has been covered, etc). Just thought looking at someone else site might help me nix the bad or add something I didn't even think of.

    Thanks guys!

Thanks! I like the background/history stuff.

I noticed a few broken links FYI for whoever updates that otherwise a lot of good info on there.

Plain is good. When I first started doing HTML and Java in notepad (before all the WYSIWYG editors) I used to love all the web designs... now days pages are to crowded, too many images and random things dirtying the page up. I actually like that design a lot. Very simple and has a warm feel to it.

As far as posting run info/pictures..do your departments have any rules against this? Where do the pictures come from? I know with some of the rights covered under hipa posting somethings are off limits.. so i was curious if you guys were generating your own write ups or just using local news sources?

    Thanks for the posts guys.

I was going to get the rest of the board setup today but the GF had the day off. I didn't get the chance to work on anything today.

Lot of great sites I own my own site that I allow anyone to post relevant info or calls they have run. My department has recently launched their site. horrycountyfirerescue.com it is a work in progress. My personal site is battalion22.com it is nice not to be regulated in what content you post. The departments site is limited on what it posts and is at the mercy of the pio updating the site. please visit both sites and let me know what you think

Battalion22... I really like the horrycountyfirerescue.com site...very simple layout and asy navigation. Battalion22 as exactly the way you said the department is..Busy. A lot of good content though.

Here is a preview of what i have so far... http://www.albanyfireems.com

We need to add pictures and info. Still a lot of work to do on the forums as well..but certainly a work in progress. My friend is on a cruise at the moment so I have been going slow until he gets back.
