Rook,
Subscribe to this thread and when I hear something I'll let you know. I do know that they are giving the civil service test soon. So I assume the next class should be starting around July.BRFD Eng. 1

I took the civil service test and scored an 87 is that good enough?
I also jsut kind figured i wouldnt get it due to everyone i've talked to saying that they mostly only hire EMTS I'm not a EMT althought if i dont hear anything but aug i'm going to start the EMT school, i did get a letter for BRPD stating they got my application and a letter would be sent to me next time they give the TABE test. Guess thats a letter they send to everyone

Although I'm not with Baton Rouge Fire Department, one thing confuses me....do I understand this correctly, you are going through the application process for both the Baton Rouge Fire Department AND the Baton Rouge Police Department? What do you want to be, a cop or a firefighter? Or are you just trying to land any old civil service job?

SmittyBR....There was a captain here a while back, Acklan. He hasn't posted since early September, though, don't know what ever became of him.Last edited by dmleblanc; 02-06-2006 at 02:30 AM.

Rook,
It would be a good idea to get the EMT-B cert before you apply. Thats the reason I'm on the job. Most people who get hired here know someone.BRFD Eng. 1

Sorry I took so long to get back. I worked with Benny my second shift on the floor. He's a Capt on the Ladder at #3 on A shift. If I were you i'd try to get in touch, he may be helpful to you.

Update: BRFD
Rook,
Saw a department memo the other day stating that they are getting ready to start the hiring process. They are shooting for another class by the second week of July. TABE test sometime around mid-April / beginning of May. Ability test late May / June.BRFD Eng. 1
