Semi-Annual performance report

This might be a silly question, but this was the first grant our department has received. I have searched the forums and haven't really found what I am looking for.
Our Semi-Annual performance report is due February 18th. How much information do they want to see? We were awarded an apparatus grant and not much has happened so far. We received our bids, selected the manufacturer and held our pre-construct meeting. Do they want every detail on this report or do they just want a brief overview of where we are in the process?

They just want to see that something is happening, so basically what you just typed is usually good enough.

That's close to what I put in ours for the 2002 award. Except ours was off of a purchasing co-op and I had the truck 98% designed proir to award, so there was very little to do after the award but place the order and verify drawings. They just want to see that something is happening instead of sitting on it until the 10th month before starting the process. The faster departments get the stuff in, the less paperwork they have dragging out from year to year.

No problem. They'll want a little more detail on the closeout, but showing progress is good enough for now.
