Alright, so I have to take this thing, what should I be studying? I've got a Pre-Algebra book so far.

That won't help much. I'm not sure there is any good way to study for it. It's mostly logical questions. Some examples of the questions involve turning one gear connected to other gears and finding out which way the last gear turns and how many times gear x moves when you turn gear y 2 times. There are also some mapping questions. The test has nothing to do with firefighting- so you can set your Essentials book down.

Go to the bookstore and buy a firefighter test prep book. They'll have tips on the reading comprehension section, the mechanical aptitude section, the basic math section and the others. You can prep for this test.
