Our department was awarded a grant in 2004 for new SCBA. We would like to apply for a mobile containment system that would be placed next to our cascade in our equipment truck and also to upgrade the new SCBA's with an electronic accountability system. Does this seem like a viable proposal for 2006? Both of these would enhance our 2004 award.
Depending on your current MO, you may want the accountability to be handled on a personal basis, not just by SCBA. They are eligible and meet numerous OSHA and NFPA standards, as well as working with NIMS.
Not following you on the mobile containment system. You mean a fill station?
That's correct, a mobile fill station. We would feel safer filling our 4500 psi bottles on scene in a fill station.
Don't blame you on that one. Exciting things happen when SCBA bottles go BOOM.
