    Default Ballistic protection for firefighters

First off, i did a search and couldn't find much info.

Looking for any information regarding ballsitic armor for firefighters. Specifically different types as far as levels of protection and types concerning donning.

Our area is getting very bad, and our crew rcvd some credible threats last night on a call from one of the many gangs. Just looking for some information that I can present for consideration.

Thanks in advance for the info.

AH got ya. Do you all not have PD respond before you'll in certain area? Just asking did not know if this is effective there or not. Some places it works others it dont. We have PD respond with us in areas of our town but sometimes its not effective. What gang are you'll receiving threats from? We here stuff from MS 13 here.

PD responds on some calls. They were there and witnessed the death threat and did nothing until we requested it and then they just "shooed" them away. The same members also showed up at the ED and made the same threats.

We have the largest contingent of gangs in the area...something to brag about huh? MS-13 is VERY prevalent in our, but this wasn't MS-13.

I only post this to gain information regarding different types of body armor, and ways it is used. That's why I am being a little discreet in my location. I've not been able to find anything on the internet that would apply like I was thinking. I was hoping to find something that can be put on overhead or even conventionally over a t-shirt, uniform shirt, or sweatshirt. Maybe my search terms are not appropriate. That's why I approached y'all here.

    Thanks

Yeah, looks good. Right now, I'm really not sure what I'm looking for. I'm in the very early stages of research.

    Thanks though

    http://www.pinnaclearmor.com/index.php

A former local brother is now the technical director of the Hard Armor division of this company...you know, that crappy "Lex-Core" product we've had such fun with...

He is a wealth of knowledge in all areas of body armor, so if you cant find the info you need on this site, feel free to contact him directly.

Try a look at www.body-armor.com . A couple of years ago we had a LT in the Lexington KY Fire Dept killed responding to a call. The man was found to be insane and seeing aliens and such.
