Chicago residency?

Ok, firefighter announcement for Chicago says residency at time of 'employment' is required. Go to the city website and it says residency is required at time of 'application'. 2 completely different things!

The examination announcement from Human Resources says residency at the time of employment.

Ok, read a little more into it. Looks like I'll have to wait until March. After 10 years one gets a little impatient. However, I did go to the Human Resources website. Clicked on the "Find out about Residency Rule" link. That's where I read you must be a resident at time of application.

It's always been at time of employment in the past, ie the day you start the academy. I would assume it's still the same.

The rule is residency at time of EMPLOYMENT. That way they can get all your money for the application.
