hey just a quick question for you guys and gals if you have a banquet or ball at your firehouse or on the firehouse. and if so are youfolks invited to attend the ball/banquet. I was jsut asking about it because the jr.s in my firehouse are invited to go to a banquet and dance afterward. and was just asking to find out how other departments work and things like that. I've been with the fireservice for four years now and was just curious. if you all can get back to me. thanks

One of my departments has an annual "Ladies Night" which is where the awards for the year and the yearly checks are handed out. Your supposed to bring a date and the deparment provides the steaks on the house. My other department operates the same way, minus handing out the checks.

Our dept. has a christmas part in Dec. where they give out the ff of the year award, etc.
The explorers are not invited.Just because it's called a throw bag, doesn't mean you throw the whole bag... you're supposed to hold onto the rope.

We allow everyone the opportunity to join the banquet or the awards dinner. Parents will bring the kids and our cadets are allowed to bring their parents. We have went beyond the alcohol being served inside the station and therefore, take pride in being a community role model.

well we serve alchol but not in the firehouse. we went with the rule that you are not allowed to drink in the house. but this is another city building that you can drink in but jr.s don't drink!!!!!! but we all have a good time wile we are there. and we have a live band and dinner with awards and all that other good stuff. oh yeah and you can invite your favorite girl or your parents or who ever to the banquet. we have adance afterwards and the public is invited to attend. and that goes on all night.
