LANDOVER, Md. -- More of the Washington region's first responders are testing their responses to terror attacks Friday, this time involving mass transit.
At the Metro training facility in Landover, more than 100 law enforcement, fire and EMS personnel are participating in a simulated bomb attack that triggers a collision involving a Metrorail train and a commuter train.
Besides Metro Transit Police, personnel from the District, Arlington County, Va., Montgomery and Prince George's counties in Maryland, the FBI, and Amtrak are honing the skills they'd need for underground operations.
The drill is designed to simulate what would occur if such an accident involving an Amtrak train and a Metrorail train were to occur at or near the Orange Line Cheverly Station.

- Why? It's not like you're going to visit me! But I'm near Waco, Texas
They did this down here in Texas over a century ago. People wanted to see what happened when two trains hit head on. The crowd was too close to the wreck when it happened so several got injured from flying debris.
Matter of fact I accidently found the historical marker for this while out on a wreck one night.NREMT-P\ Volunteer Fire Chief\Tactical Paramedic
