Can't answer for anywhere else, but Forts Meyer and Belvoir seem to be pretty good bases. Both run outside the gate on local county boxes.

Fort Meyer catches a number of good boxes in Arlington County. In January alone, Rescue Engine 161 has taken in a roll over with one trapped on RT110 across from Arlington National Cemetery, was fourth due engine for a 3 alarm fire at the Pentagon, and was second due for a commercial box for a structure fire on Colombia Pike.

    Default Fort Myer

How come FM is not first or second due on the Pentagon? Arlington gets funded from PFPA to respond to calls in the MOU.

Because of several factors, Ft. Myer is almost never listed higher than third due on any box outside of the fort in Arlington County, primarily because their response off base can be hampered by base security, on-base calls, etc. They can arrive as quickly as second due in boxes in Station 10, 1 and 5's first due. At the third alarm Pentagon fire, Engine 105 is closest and first due, Eng 110 second due, Engine 161 is third and 101 is fourth.

Talking Come to the West Coast.......

Come to the west coast...... I love working at Fort Irwin...... Nice equipment, great weather, great areas for responses. We also provide local/state and federal mutual aid. A lot of educational opportunities and an aggressive/progressive Fire Department.

A few years back I was on active duty with the Navy and vollied for Virginia Beach. The DOD FF's at Norfolk were first due in parts of the city and covered some highway, not to mention a large base housing section. I recall them catching some good fires. Same goes for Little Creek, Oceana, Ft. Story, and Dam Neck. All 4 were on boxes for Va. Beach.
