Are there any other staffing grants besides the SAFER grant? If so, which one and have you been successful?

I am not aware of any besides SAFER, and it is certainly the best known. You may perhaps find a private foundation that would allow you some funds for staffing, but other than that, if you take a look over in the Law Enforcement, you can perhaps see what may come of SAFER if FD's don't meet requirements and such...there are now no Staffing grants to be found there, either, after a large lot of them in the 90's such as the infamous COPS program.
With SAFER increasing to $110 M this next year, it will be the one that has the largest opportunity (if there are any others out there)...
The one possible exception that could be considered is under the FP&S (Fire Prevention & SAfety) - if your project (according to previous year's PG), involved a career/combo FD, you could put in for some OT hours, to help complete the project. Not hire new guys, etc. but to complete a SPECIFIC FIRE PREVENTION/SAFETY project.
