Its my understanding that there are several (maybe as many as half the stations on the island) on the Big Island and possibly a couple of others on 1 or 2 other islands.
I believe they are all part of the the county department for that island but operate as volunteer individual companies.
A few that I could find for sure include:
Laupahoehoe VFD (North Hilo area - Big Island)
Kalaoa Volunteer Fire Company 7B (Kona area - Big Island)
Paradise Park Volunteer Fire Company 10C (Puna area - Big Island)
Waikoloa VFD (Waikoloa Village - Big Island)Chris Gaylord

Looking at the USFA survey it appears that Hawaii has the second highest amount of career departments at 80%. You should move to Delaware at 97.8 volunteer departments. Just kidding good luck.
