    Question Vehicle Acq Guideline Question

Can someone answer this for me?

In the 2005 Guidelines under Vehicle Acquisition it says, “vehicles contracted for or otherwise purchased prior to the end of the established application period are not eligible for funding.” The application period is from March to April. Does that mean you could order a vehicle after the application period ends but before awards are announced? Seems a little crazy but...

Secondly, can you apply for just the vehicle equipment and would that still be under Vehicle Acquistion or in Operations - Equipment?

    Thanks!

This is a competitive grant, so there is no guarantee that you will be awarded a grant. To answer the question; no. If you order the vehicle before the award announcements, and you never recieve a grant, the department/town/city will be responsible for the cost. If you order a vehicle and do win a grant, you would have to change the paperwork to show it was ordered after the start of the performace period. That gets you into trouble.

If you are talking equipment for the vehicle such as hose, nozzles etc. it will fall under the equipment catergory.
