Chief James Leslie Crisco, age 63 of Pace, died February 18, 2006 at his home.
Chief Crisco was born in McRae, AR and has lived in Pace for the past 30 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Chief Crisco served 28 years with the Pace Volunteer Fire Department, where he was fire chief for 22 years, giving his time and effort in protecting the Pace Community. He was very dedicated to staying up with the growth of Pace and saw the departments grow to four fire stations.
Chief Crisco is preceded in death by his mother, father, step-father and two brothers.
Chief Crisco is survived by his loving wife, Nellie "Nell" Crisco of Pace; one son, Mac Crisco of Wellsville, OH; one stepson, Kenneth (Claudie) Nelson of Milton; two daughters, Andy Crisco of Wellsville, OH and Jamie (David) Brojanac of Pace; one stepdaughter, Teresa (David) Josey of Apache, OK; four grandchildren, Jaycee, Elexsys, Morgan and Alex; four stepgrandchildren, Chance, Chad, Sheann and Kenny; two brothers, Orville Crisco of Milton and Dwight (Karen) Crisco of Winter Haven, FL; three sisters, Arlene Dollar of Cabot, AR, Wilma (Sam) Childers of Pace and Clara (Earl) Freeman of Pensacola; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Crisco of Milton and Marie Crisco of Beebe, AR; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Chief Crisco will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2006 at the Pace Assembly of God. Burial will follow at Serenity Gardens with Full Fireman Honors.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, February 21, 2006 at the Pace Assembly of God.
Active pallbearers will be Pace volunteer firefighters. Honorary pallbearers will be Junior Drinkard and members of all attending fire departments.
