Default When was the first time...

You pi**ed off your super? Leut, Capt, Chief?

Was it during your time as a probie, where you were a mere few months old and could still claim "new guy" status? Or, do you do it today, 20 years into the job, just for the fun of it?

Thought of the question when I realized my Capt may be a bit ****ed that I took the advice of someone on another engine who offered me a favor, and accidentally kept my Capt out of the loop. The loop is important. I'm claiming new guy status and thinking to myself, "Well, I'm still used to the corporate ladder..."

I wonder what kinds of tasks I'll be getting at training tonight...

    Default Sorry Captain

Funny thing, I was in my 3rd month with a new volunteer company, we had a Building Fire, pretty routine ops for our Truck, hit the roof, vent, get down. I was on the saw on the roof and my Captain in all his glory and new gear was still on the ladder above me barking orders about how to "properly vent the roof", when the roof swung down from the cut and the smoke, ash, and tar from the tires that were burning in the garage below completely ruined his brand new gear. Oops, better practice my vent techniques!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say our truck has never been cleaner and my tongue has never bled so much.
