The media is incorrect...again. The companies used the LSR

I think three guys pulled them up but don't quote me.

As the Lt. said it was our old standard roof rope used, not the new rope system. The companies did a terrific job (25 stories up). A simular type incident happened there(same buildings) a little over a year ago (I belive a guy from R2 went over on a rope to help a guy at a window), but it wasnt widely reported.

A little interesting fact for you baseball nuts out there.....these projects were built on the very site where the Brooklyn Dodgers played....now known as the Ebbetts Field Houses.

As far as "tricks" with the roof rope, there are several, but most arnt condoned by the job....but none the less effective if done properly. Without going into details there are ways to lower guys without the lowerer being tied off seperatly, quicker ways to tie the person being lowered, ways to extend the lenth of the rope...etc...We drill on them too so we're be prepared for any "curveballs" (no pun intended) thrown our way.

WABC has been providing content to us since 9/11 and is a quality partner, especially with New York media they are usually right. They have posted an updated story removing the references to the safetyrope, which we've now posted.
