I was at a weekend school this weekend and was talking to a guy who said something about the use of "Dragon Fire" or "Dragons Breath". It is supposed to utilize a shotgun shell with white phosphorus and some other chemicals. By the time I got back to the room to look it up on the internet I could not remember the exact name of what he called it nor all the chemicals. Has anyone ever heard of it? If so what do you know about it or do you have a web site?

This guy sells Dragon's Breath 12 gauge shells.
I think they have Zirconium as the main pyrophoric ingredient.
I was told that Israel developed them for riot control.

I've heard of these shells before but it's been a long while. I think basically it turns a shotgun into a flamethrower for a split second. I'm not sure what chemicals are used, but based on the size of a 12ga round there can't be much "charge" in there, so I'm thinking (or guessing) they have a real short range. For some reason I'm thinking I heard that they were developed for U.S. Special Forces in Vietnam but I'm sure.
I don't think this type of a shell poses much of a danger to anyone, no more so than any shotgun round. IMHOFOR HE WHO SERVES HIS FELLOWS IS OF ALL HIS FELLOWS GREATEST

Why??
What use do they have, other than perhaps setting backfires at a wildland incident??
