    Default Electronic Sealedbidding

My elected officials have ask me to explore the process of electronic sealed bidding for fire apparatus. Any input whether good or bad would be welcome.

Good, bad or indifferent...it is probably the wave of the future...entire bid packages can be sent via email. It will keep sales reps out of your fire house which may or may not be a good thing. Input from reps through the entire bidding process can be helpful or misleading...depending on the honesty of today's reps...you have to be your own judge. The bang of the almighty buck and the competitiveness of today's manufactures has many dealers/reps taking a dishonest (whether they will admit it or not) position to get the deal...often times at the expense of the customer.

    Just my opinion.
