    Default Question about past budget

On the e-grant application under the Department Characterists (Part II) section there is an area where you annual operating budget is derived from. I'm sure you all remember the areas to fill in percent of your budget are:

    -Taxes

    -Grants

    -Donations

    -Fund drives

    -other

No here is the question. If we were awarded a grant in the AFG 2005 porgram, does that grant need to be listed under the area entitled grants?

It may sound like a stupid question, but is a grant really part of a budget? At least at my fire company if we get a grant of any kind, great we can get what we the proposal stated, but if the grant is not approved then we don't get the items under the proposal. A grant is like an unforseen extra that is not part of the regular budget. Any ideas on how I should list last years grant?

    Thank you very much everyone.

I recently asked a similar question and BC79er (Brian Vickers) replied with:

AFG Grant funds are not counted in your budget. Some areas the counties give 'grants' every year instead of calling it tax monies. Since AFG is a one time shot (hopefully more) it does not count as operating budget since it cannot be guaranteed to be back the next year.

The thead is titled "Application Budget Question" or close. Currently near the top of Page 2.

Thanks Green and Brian indirectly. That is what I kind of thought but I just wanted to be on the safe side.
