    Default Amboy Extrication School-Update

    Folks-

There are approximately 350+ firefighters signed up for classes, 50+ instructors, and 20+ vendors.

If you have sent in your application, please do so soon.....classes are filling fast.

We are having an Open House immediately following the school at our new store approx. 1 block south and 1 block east of the fire station at 243 E. Main. We will have a booth at the event and also be open all day if you need anything (safety glasses, punches, extrication gloves, etc....).

We are looking forward to seeing you all on the 8th!

    Sincerely,

    rfd599

Great class guy's. Well orginazed, a little slow starting, but with 350 that's going to happen. I just though I need to mention a couple of things. First off WATER, or the lack there of, SCBA class had none, you had a ranger throw a cooler in it and drive it around. I took new car tec, and it was far from that. Don't get me wrong, it was a good class, with first rate instructors. The newest car we cut was an early 90's, just a simple extraction class, I've been to many. I paid $60 for a new car tec class and went away feeling screwed. My daughter had a great time in SCBA's, it's an 1 1/2hr drive home, she rattled on for 45min, and as soon as she stopped talking, she was out like a light. She'll be back.

trainer, your daughter was in the same class as me and a couple of friends. She got proposed to by one of them . he was just messin though. The class was fun and taught by great instructors. They did get most of us caught in the "collapse" scenario, only a few made it out. It was a good class and very worthwhile. I will be back next time.

    Ox-

It was nice to meet you on Saturday. Thank you to everyone that stopped by our store after the school, there were between 200-250 firefighters in the store between 15:30-18:30.

It's always nice to put a face with a name. It was nice to meet you too Nick. Darien, I thought that was you but wasnt sure and I did not want to make a fool of myself. I think I may have seen Joel from NorthPark and Trainer. It's always fun to go out and meet other firefighters and exchange stories. The extrication school is always a good time and I will come back for many years to come.

I didn't have the pleasure of going to the Amboy school this year...

I will have to be there with some sort of demo rig next year, I think...

We had a guy down there from North Park helping with a rehab class I think, but unfortunately our annual awards banquet was the same evening so our training officer didn't really make the schedule for Amboy known.

How many of you folks are headed to Indy this year? If you are, I'll be there starting Tuesday, both learnin' and workin'. What a great time out there, learning, looking and meeting people.
