How do you "forget the Yanks"?

If anyone thinks for a minute that their lineup is going to go through an offensive drought all year they are sniffing glue.

George is right. The Yanks are always contenders so they will come alive eventually. I actually rooted for them last year at a game against the KC Royals. Got tickets 6 rows up from the field on the Yankee dugout side. They were Bank of America promotional tickets. My burger and beer cost $7.50 each though

The Brewers may have won on Saturday but the METS took the series

That's my brother's team. He is a huge fan and as a bday present my parents got him a trip to go down to Atlanta for a weekend of games.

Personally, I don't think that they are going to win their division for the 15th odd time in a row.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate them, I just don't see them winning the division.

I'm not too big on Pro Baseball but give me a 6 pack and a college game here, and I'll have a blast!

Why have the umpires become such a bunch of wussies? If a player complains about them back at the bench, they get bounced for the rest of the game. Take it like a man umps, you get paid a lot of money and you need to stop being so freakin sensitive!

Shouldn't the players that are getting paid way more than any ump act like "a man" and not bitch about bad calls? I have yet to see a player run out on the field when the call went their way and say "Gee, you made a mistake, I really was out." Screw the overpaid crybaby players. It's a game. You bitch too much about the call, you sit and watch the rest of the game. Sissies. There are 1000's of players willing to take their spot in a heartbeat, STFU and play the game.

I hate the Phillies, but love the fans.... Did anyone see the Sports Illustrated article on Barry Bonds tour de Philly last weekend..... the fans were ruthless

Best sign I saw in the article:

    TICKETS TO THE GAME $45
    STEROIDS: $5000
BARRY BONDS NEVER WINNING A WORLD SERIES: PRICELESS

Yeah that umpire crew A.K.A Four Blind Mice couldn't get anything right Gotta love Prince Fielder's pseudo home run. It clearly hit the padding and bounced back in (thus not a homer). Not one of those field umpires (including the one that called it a fair ball) had the gonads to tell the home plate ump he was wrong. Oh well, s**t happens

I enjoyed watching the mascot go down the slide though even though it meant the Mets screwed up

That would be ‘Bernie Brewer’ sliding, and don’t discount the Brewers. Their lineup is very young, but tough and scrappy. It is an oddity for them to out of a game, something that has been a long time in coming.
No post season predictions, but it is fun to have a competitive team once again. That truly is something that has really been hard to take.
Baseball really needs to learn a bit from the NFL. It really is hard to enjoy a sport in which the team with the most money is the only team to have any realistic World Series aspirations. This is the reason why I will always cheer for any team that plays the Yankees, and it was very nice to watch the Brewers dismantle the Yankees in Miller Park last June. That would be the Yankees who, at that time, had a payroll significantly larger than their opponent did.

Back before Miller Park, when they played at County Stadium Bernie used to slide into a gigantic Beer stine!

I actually toured some of the Milwaukee FD firehouses when I was in Wisconsin taking a look at our 2001 Seagrave. They were very accomodating and let us look at their equipment. We went to the Water Rescue, HURT (Paul Conway worked there at the time), and Haz Mat units. On the way to Haz Mat we passed Miller Park. Nice stadium. Made the mistake of visiting on Packers game day though

It wasn't planned. We were driving around Milwaukee and saw a firehouse. One of the guys I was with is a career guy so we didn't think they would mind dealing with an IAFF brother. They showed us their engine at the Water Rescue house and they told us to check out the HURT unit. It was cool to see all of their heavy rescue equipment (shoring, air struts, tunnel rescue, etc). I had never seen closed circuit SCBA up close before. The HURT guys said we should check out HazMat so off we went. Their tractor-drawn HazMat trailer was impressive. Like I said, the Packers were on so our discussion with them was BRIEF We just wandered around and looked liked the Buffs that we were

I didn't get to meet Paul Conway but he did reply to an email I sent in to his company about the great service when I ordered a shield. It was nice to see that he is still that involved with the customer service aspect.
