Their website says they will be hiring in the spring of 06, does anyone have any information on this department? Number of people they are expecting to hire? Shift types?

From what I have read, they require you to become an EMT-I within a year of employment, and I hear their pay starts in the high 30's low 40's.

Any information would be helpful, thanks

There was a test in January, applicants that passed the written and CPAT are in the process of interviewing with the department now. Academy starts in July/August with about 30 people. I had my interview this AM and the Captain mentioned that starting pay was going to be increasing soon. I haven't heard that about the EMT-I but that could be true. They work a 56 hour week 7A to 7P: 24 on, 24 off, 24 on, 24 off, 24 on, 96 off. Not sure when the next test is but you can visit their website to get notified when the next test is going to be.

    Best of luck.
