Default Junkyard 'Firefighters' In Action! Any resemblence to REAL firefighters's nonexistant

These gentlemen, in an apparent effort to protect their business from the ravages of fire, and not willing to bother trained firefighters, have purchased their own somewhat used piece of fire apparatus and trained themselves how to start it...at least.

Please note the innovative method of establishing a water supply that they devaloped after seconds of trial and error...or is that error and error???

As you can imagine, the job was finished by the ACTUAL fire department, with ACTUAL firefighters, who knew what they were doing!.

Video originally posted by mathblasta 2001 over on LACoFire.com who also added the commentary and sound track...

AND NOW ON TO THE SHOW!

Warning ...please be seated and do NOT drink anything before viewing this video!!!

    Can't wait for the sequel!

Sadly, I witnessed the same thing at my FD 10 years ago at a structure fire so I really can't bash them too much

It's cute but I can't say too much either.

We've got a guy on our department with 15 or so years' experience and probably our best operator. Last month, we have a car fire. No problem, pull a 1 3/4" preconnect, put it out and go home.

Got the pull a preconnect part right but the go home part was slightly delayed when, much to his embarrassment, our ace operator charged the other preconnect while it was still in the hosebed.

So that's what happens to old Fire Trucks when they die. They become the Scrapyard FD.

Yeah it's definitely humerous, but unfortunately It has been done by many REAL Fire Depts too.

My dream — and I hope you don't find this too crazy — is that I would like the people of this community to feel that if, God forbid, there were a fire, calling the fire department would actually be a wise thing to do. You can't have people, if their houses are burning down, saying, 'Whatever you do, don't call the fire department!' That would be bad."

His only problem was not driving fast enough! He coulda beat the water! I love when the guy strolls up to them as they're "racing" to the fire.

Gotta say.......I'm digging the soundtrack....and that's what you get for using a fire engine that ain't RED. Those doofuses were probably gonna use a damn fog nozzle on the fire.
