Welcome back Cap!
There are several people here that have been here along while. But it doesn't matter if you have 5 posts or 5,000, we are all equals. Some people have alot of good posts, some have alot of bad posts. We need to just realize that some people you can trust what they say, some you can't.
Can't we all just get along?

Geez,
I'm away for a couple of days and hell freezes over!
In short, Glad too see you back Capt. and I admire your taking responsibility, many others would not have as an old teacher would say, the testicular fortitude to do such a thing. For this I salute you....Last edited by backsteprescue; 04-17-2006 at 10:51 PM.
Just because it's called a throw bag, doesn't mean you throw the whole bag... you're supposed to hold onto the rope.

The WebTeam made a decision. deal with it.
I, for one, think they made the right call. 5 posts or 5,000 posts, the rules apply to everyone. and as was said before, it's their sandbox, if you want to play in it, you need to follow their rules.
CapGonzo admits he might have crossed a line. so while everyone is complaining about the webteam or questioning their decision, even he admits that what he did wasn't cool. he said something that another user didn't like, who reported him, and the WT agreed with whomever reported him. the system worked, as it was supposed to.
we all know that there are senior posters who have either pounced on idiots, newbies, or people they disagreed with. and there are others who will try to mediate a fighter between two posters. and the WT lets us do it, because it doesn't violate their rules and it's less of a headache for them.
Captgonzo got spanked, did his time, and now he's back. lets all move on, shall we?If my basic HazMat training has taught me nothing else, it's that if you see a glowing green monkey running away from something, follow that monkey!

We have all probably said things that were "bannable" (new word..lol). CG can admit he crossed over.. but E229 said it best. Someone has thin skin. Im not PC, so I know I may have crossed over. c'est la vie. Its a discussion board. get thicker skin and get over it

WELCOME BACK. Thanks to you, I found out about the Purple Hydrant award. I applied for it too.
Isnt it great that a bunch of complete strangers can bond together when a friend takes a hit and then welcome him back with open arms?
Cool stuff..Ok...someone get the this party started.

It's the same people that went home crying to mommy and daddy when they got "picked on" as a child...
It's the same people that necessitated the creation of the term "frivilous lawsuit"...
It's the same people that cry and whine everytime the world doesn't coddle them like mommy and daddy did/do...
Yep, the same people that advocate double-standards to make the world "fair"...
The very same people that created the "PC" concept...
... Scumbag crybabies...

Ok, here's what I don't understand...
All this happened in the Apparatus Innovation Forum!?
What's up with that? It is usually so empty you could strip a Tower Ladder down to the frame and there wouldn't be any witnesses...

We fire truck geeks get pretty passionate, I guess. I somehow dodged a bullet on the thread in question, as I was involved in dealing with the individual that caused the ruckus, but I think I somehow restrained myself from submitting some nastiness. Trust me, some stuff was typed in but I never clicked the "submit" button.
There were quite a few suspended from the forums for a while due to that thread. The sad thing is, had we nipped it in the bud and had the WT deal with the offender, things would probably have never escalated the way they did.
Everyone here is entitled to an opinion, but when that opinion becomes filled with hate based on ethnicity or culture, well that crosses the line. That's where things started getting bad, and everything started swirling in the proverbial toilet bowl we call the forums from there.
Good to see Captain Gonzo is back. I look forward to when everyone is back, if they aren't already.
