Default Extreme Makeover for Former Byron Firefighter's Family

    To all:

On April 7, 2006, a tornado ripped through Hendersonville, TN, critically injuring Amy Hawkins. During the tornado, she laid on top of her two boys, Jair, 6, and Cole, 3, in the basement while the house collapsed on top of them. The collapse fractured her skull and broke her back, paralyzing her from the waist down.

Her husband Jerrod, was on duty as a firefighter in Brentwood, TN, and called her and told her to go to the basement right before the tornado hit town. Jerrod Hawkins was a former Byron (IL) firefighter before moving to Tennessee to become a career firefighter.

Friends and family have started an online petition to have their house rebuilt by Extreme Makeover Home Edition. Please take a second and fill out the petition at www.hpteam/hawkins/.

Thank you and have a good day!
