Fire Burning at Parowan Logging Company
April 17th, 2006 @ 7:32am
(KSL News) A fire at a logging company in Parowan is still burning and it's expected to burn for most of the day.

Fire fighters got the call around 5:00 this morning and immediately called for backup. In fact, three other agencies are assisting Parowan.

Stacks of logs and some 55 gallon drums of gas are fueling the fire at the storage facility.

Right now, crews are trying to protect a neighboring warehouse. They are also dealing with 40-50 mile per hour winds as they try to keep the flames from spreading to nearby fields and brush.

No injuries are reported, but fire crews say a couple of semis on the property have blown up. One authority estimates damage from the four-alarm fire at 1- to- 2 million dollars.

No word on what caused the fire.
