Default Australia- Factory fire 'biggest in 10 years'

Just a bit of ole' fire news from the southern side of the pond.
Factory fire 'biggest in 10 years'
    From: AAP
    April 18, 2006

A FIRE that has engulfed up to six buildings in Melbourne's southeast was one of the largest the city has seen in the past decade, a senior fire officer said.

Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB) assistant chief fire officer Keith Adamson said the Moorabbin fire, which was now largely controlled, was as large as the devastating $40 million Metropolitan Meatworks fire in Brooklyn in 2001.
"This is the biggest fire I have seen in 10 years," Mr Adamson said.

"This is the biggest fire I have seen since the big meatworks fire ... several years ago.

"This fire is bigger than the Lombard fire (in late 2004). That was one big building. This is five or six buildings at one time."

For all the life of me, i cant see a firefighter going to hell. At least not for very long. We would end up putting out all the fires and annoying the devil too much.

The fire was escalated up to a 7th alarm.

Response included 37 MFB appliances and about 15 CFA appliances.
