    Default Air Force Retrainees

Hello all, I am a 27 year old Staff Sergeant, been in little over 5 years, currently a 2W071 Munitions Craftsman, stationed an Nellis AFB, NV. Last week I found out that my retraining was approved looks like I will be attending DoD Fire Academy in the near future. This thread was started so that I could get as much input as possable from everyone that has been there. Mostly I would like to hear from some other folks that have retrained, but all inputs are welcome. Thanks in advance.

This site might work better...<http://www.dodfire.com/index.htm>. Goodfellow is a good school and you should learn a lot.

Hi USAFSSGT, if you take a look at this link from a different thread http://forums.firehouse.com/showthread.php?t=73260 you should have some kind of info on the school. I retrained to be a FF in the AF Reserve about six years ago. It is completely different than my other military jobs. I guess alot of it depends on where you get stationed at. Anyway...good luck with your new job.

Not the best time of the year to go, but it is better than going mid summer. Congratulations on your date. Listen to what your instructors say, learn and have fun (in that order of course). Keep us posted on your progress.

And PLEASE don't rate the whole state of Texas by San Angelo. If you go east, you get into some beautiful countryside.
