How do I apply for Wildland Fires in the West?
I am from Michigan and work for a local fire department I am interested in doing some wildland fire fighting out West, what are some websites that I can check out for this?? Im interested in anything but Colorado and or Wyoming would be great. Thank you.

You're late for almost all the seasonal positions this year, but if you're lucky you might come up with something. There's the usual federal candidates... Forest Service, BLM, FWS, NPS. For the federal positions, I find it easiest to figure out where you qualify (probably GS-02 or GS-03), and run a search for Series 0462 at that pay grade on www.usajobs.gov Beyond that, check with the various state agencies... most states have some sort of Department of Forestry / Lands / Natural Resources / Conservation or in general some department that handles their wildland firefighting. Of course there's also plenty of contractors, but their hiring process is far less standardized, so you'll have to figure them out individually.
