Default Apple Blossom Parade - I Know Its Late To Ask

But is anyone going to the Winchester Apple Blossom Parade 5 May? We're putting in the 1946 Maxim and the Ambulance, so I'll be out there somewhere. Charging the batteries for the digital camera is underway.

I dont mean to hijack the thread or anything, but when I first read it I thought it said "Apple Bottom Parade"! I was like "Yes, count me in!" So much for fifth grade reading class.
Just know, I chose my own fate. I drove by the fork in the road and went straight.

I am sad to report that while Yes, I was at the parade, we were late arriving and I only got off a couple shots before things got going. (**NOTE to Self: that wont happen next year )

I never got a chance to talk to Billy, so I don't know how we did on the judging for the 46. The Utility and Ambulance (which I rode on) were just "filler", so we were not required for the judging that took place earlier in the day.

Rob, can't view your link from work, but will certainly look in when I get home. About the only thing I had time to grab was a pic of (a Mack - I think) with the stereo system plumbed into the passenger side tool cabinet. Very kuul idea there. And a couple of the overall line up, but that was about it. Too much jerking about trying to find our place in line. Still it was fun, for all the dorking about. LOL

And "Aawwll be baacckk" next year! (unless I'm in fire school and can't get out of class in time.)

What is that green thing? It can't be a firetruck. They are SUPPOSED to be RED

Hey, that's our pumper in the "line behind" photo. First fully visible one on the left. They placed first in whatever category they competed in. I didn't make it this year, though. Maybe next year. Thanks to the folks that represented us this year.

That would be from Manassas... I think? I know they were pretty close behind us. The rear end of the far left truck was their Ladder. Wondered if it was the one from that other link, with the camera mounted in the bucket.

    Default Clinton's Kenworth

Sorry to say gent's, we no longer participate in the Apple Blossom Fest. I think it just got to be too much of a hassle with the cleaning and stuff.

If you want to see more pics of the rig, check out www.clintonvfd.org It is still in service as a Water Supply Unit. Malahat, if you are in Northern Virginia, we are just a short drive (if there is such a thing) over the Wilson Bridge, exit 7A in Maryland. Feel free to come see the beast, I might even take you for a ride on it of you're nice....haha. But come quick, because it will be Out of service when we take delivery of our new Pierce in late 06.
