Police Investigating Possible Pepper Spray Incident At Restaurant

Frankfort (AP) Eight people were taken to a Frankfort hospital yesterday after someone spraying what police believe was pepper spray spread the substance around a restaurant and a store.

No one has been arrested in the incidents, which took place at a Taco Bell and a Wal-Mart. Frankfort Police Sergeant Robert Warfel says the incidents are probably related.

Investigators will review the video surveillance system from Wal-Mart with the hope of finding the person who discharged the pepper spray.

Frankfort Regional Medical Center spokesman Brad Wann says seven of the eight brought to the hospital were from Taco Bell, with the other person having been brought in from Wal-Mart.

Frankfort Fire and Emergency Medical Services spokesman Dan Shouse says it was the third pepper spray incident at Taco Bell since Friday.

Can you imagine the panic that this would cause here? The average citizen doesn't know the difference between pepper spray and cologne. There would be immediate panic in a crowded situation.

Your correct on the panic. It was used at a night club in Panama City FL. it spread throughout the building. When over 100 people all "go blind and want out" doors get crowed.

21 people were killed and another 50 or so injured due to the panic caused by a security guard spraying mace in a crowded dance club. Right here in the Windy City.

We had a similar incident here a few years ago in a Walmart. Very confusing scene. We were lucky that it was on a weekday in the middle of the day, so we didn't have to deal with the late afternoon or weekend crowds.
