    Default Looking for training

I am a career firefighter in Maine preparing myself for advancement in the fire service. Currently the highest level of certifications available to us beyond FF II is Fire Officer I and Instructor I. At present we are becoming a Pro Board state with IFSAC a ways off. Does anyone know where I can go to receive training for the higher levels of FO and instructor? Keep in mind that while I am NFPA certified I am not Pro Board certified because our State Training Division has yet to come out with bridge program. Travel is not a concern as long as the programs can be completed in a few weeks such as in an academy format. Thanks for the help.

The Department of Defense has reciprocity with IFSAC and Proboard, so if you have a base FD near you they usually offer IFSAC and/or Proboard certified classes.

When I worked for the DoD we had lots of instructors from Pennsylvania , Maryland and Indiana. Most of the certs came through state colleges (Bucks County, PA, Maryland State University, Indiana may have been the Fire Marshall).
