If a post appears and nobody reads it...does it make a sound?

thanks for the tip (and sorry for now being so off topic here) - but why under the posting rules would it say i can edit my posts if i can't? and do i not get to be a member unless i pay money?

i swear, i just wanted to pass on a feel-good story to everyone...

give it like a week or 2. you will be a 'member' when webteam approves you (or something like that, i dont know). example:
when i registered, i was a guest for about a week, then i was a member. you dont have to pay, just wait!
sorry if i was a little misleading in my last post

    got it - thanks.
well, i guess i will have to post the old news when i've become a member since it still won't work. tried different browsers, no luck.

the story is that i am trying to post is here: http://www.firstcoastnews.com/news/l...?storyid=58001

if any of you members would be willing to cut and paste it and make it its own thread, that would be great. i was blown away by what rescue 21 did for lt. montoya's sister, and wanted to share the story as it is truly what this profession is all about.

feel free to cut and paste and make it a thread on its own - i think everyone should see it (especially somewhere other than buried in this test post).

now you know why i was trying so hard to post!

I'm just testing the tester to test his ability to monitor his test thread.

If this were a real emergency test thread, you would have been given instructions on where to place your valuables and credit card information.

Marty, your test of the Thread Testing System has tested correctly. This test was tested and verified by the Thread Testing Corporation - which incidentally, is a non-profit organization.

How are things in wonderful Sunny British Columbia? I saw a bit of Canadian Satelite news this morn, and the flooding in and around the Nelson area. Gee wiz guys. First its raging woodland fires, and then you're up to your eyeballs in water. Just hope all comes out alright in the wash.

Well, they are also calling for an above average Fire Season unless the rain keeps up. Apparently we are two years after the last El Nino, and that seems to be a gem for predicting high fire activity. That is of course unless we get washed away first.

We almost lost the only road to Panorama last week, after a plugged high-capacity culvert caused a creek to overflow and began washing out the road. Thankfully it was spotted by my Deputy on his regular rounds, and some quick work by one of my Lt's (a Mtn Manager) with an escavator saved the day. It had already undermined the road quite noticeably, but another couple of hours, and the road would have been gone.

We'll see what the old "Climate Change" has in store for us this year.
