Well...Right now we have 1 3/4" and 2 1/2" pre-connects, 2 " in our hi-rise packs, 3" for FDC supply and pre-connect extension and 5" LDH for hydrant supply. There is talk of reducing this to just 2", 3" and 5". I like the idea of the 2", just not sure how much I like 3" as a back-up/large flow attack line.

My volly FD uses 2 inch hose for our only hadline size. We use Elkhart low pressure combos rated at 200 at 75 backed by a 1 1/4 inch slug tip.
We flow from 160 to 200 with the combo and 290 at 40 with the slug.
If these flows don't cut it we pull a preconnected deluge set off the back step fed by 3 inch and let it have at it.
My career FD uses 1 1/2, 1 3/4 and 2 1/2 handlines for flow of 95, 125 or 200 and 250.
