Need help...

Hey guys,

I need help with a problem we have on an other forum. This site is not as organised as this one (member don't need to register, etc).

We have a bunch of anonymous whackers coming to the forum to directly attack participants.

Is there any way to find out the identity of these guys via their IP adress or other???

I think that would be considered hacking, and hacking is illegal... but if you know the user name you can shoot over a email to a forum moderator to see if they would like to take and action.

If you operate the forum, yes. If not, there isn't much you can do.

This is why I disable guest-posting privileges on the forums I run, it makes people at least pretend to be real to say anything. Doesn't completely eliminate the BS (because some people are perfectly fine with acting like morons even when you know who they are) but it does cut down on it.
