    Default Amercian Lafrance New Aerial

Does anyone know anything about this new 100' Aerial from Lafrance? I heard it has a 12' spread with a 10' short jack with a 500lb tip load? Is that possible? Any info would be appreciated!

I have already been to their site, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the new ladder and some more specifics. Any drawings, specs or comments would be great!

We have one in pre-production now, 110' with 12' jacks, looks like a good set up.

does the monitor go all the way to the tip? DO you know the weight ratings when flowing water? I just think that it seems like a lot of things at the tip with a very short jack spread?

4 SECTION AERIAL LADDER: 500 lbs capacity - dry; 250 lbs with full water tower rating, per web site.

That doesn't seem very heavy duty to me.
Our 75' aerial is rated at 500 lbs tip load while flowing water any elevation/angle/extension and 750 lbs dry any elevation/angle/ extension.
I would think a 100 ft. aerial billed as heavy duty would have the same ratings.

I know what there website says but to get even a 250lb rating at the tip while flowing water with such a short wheelbase seems impossible...so the monitor does go to the last fly?

E-One has had that short a jack spread for years, the Pirsh I worked on had that narrow a jack spread and the jacks were manual. Don't forget Crimson that only has two jacks that extend the others are tight to the truck.
The ALF is built to NFPA specs, are you really wondering if the rig is safe or just looking for an excuse to bash ALF?

Waterway is retractable, latching outer mid section or fly.
