I am a 42 year old Tech sgt. in the Air Force Reserve and am looking into retraining as a fire fighter in the Air Guard due to a Brac realignment at my base. Just wanted to know if anybody out there knew of anyone thats ever gone through it at my age and rank. I am excited about the possibility of doing this and meet all physical and asvab requirements. Just looking for some insight on it.

I was 41 when I went through the fire academy in the AF Reserve back in 2001. It wasn't bad. Had been volunteer FF for several years before that, so the tests weren't that hard. As for the physical part, technique rules over brute force any day. Just listen to what your instructors tell you and you will do fine.
Just someone trying to help! (And by the way....Thanks for YOUR help!)
Aggressive does not have to equal stupid.
