    Default Condolences

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends, and loved ones in their time of need.

To our brothers in the FDNY and all over the world remember you honor their lives by getting on the rig everyday. So the next time you step on the rig and head off to a call take a quick second and remember these two brave souls (and all the others lost) and cherish their lives by doing what they loved so much, every day.

    REST IN PEACE!!

May you arive in heaven one hour before the devil knows you are dead.

If anyone knows when the wake or funeral will be held please post. Thanks

    Unhappy Tragic Loss

Another tragic lost to our Brotherhood. This 99 cent store, the SAME building, had another major fire six years ago, 66-33-2797, on July 30, 2000.

This building like any other that has suffered a great lost should have been made into a parking lot or park to remember those who has given their lives.

Thoughts and prayers go to the families of these two members, the company members, the entire members of the FDNY.

I have to agree with allineedisu. That store is too much of a hazard to have it reopen.

Does anybody know if a memorial fun has been set up because I would gladly donate to it.

The good thing about this job is that we have done so much, with so little, for so long that we can do everything with nothing...... which is what is wrong with this job.

    THANKS EVERYONE

On behalf of the FDNY (I don't think most would mind me speaking for them) I would like to thank all of the firefighters, emts, police officers and civilians that attended the services for FF Reilly.

It was a great show of support from all over the country and we appreciate it. There was a line at least 5-6 deep for over a half-a-mile (probably a lot longer). An EXCEPTIONAL attendance from NJ and CT!

I unfortunately have to work tomorrow and will not be able to attend Lt. Carpluk's funeral, if you have the time, please stop by the funeral.

Great job guys, thanks and I was proud to stand next to you.

    Nate;
I looked for 61 Squads crew, but there were WAY too many of you guys. I got stuck next to 33/16s (i think?) and they welcomed me. I did make it inside to sign the book.
There were depts from as far away as Ann Arundal (sp) MD, and his old dept in Ct, and NJ.

All 5 Rescues and 5 of the 7 Squads operated at this box.

Everyone worked very well and coordinated to get the trapped brothers out. Ladder 27 was the FAST Truck. Some members were able to self rescue (initially we had about 10 firefighters through the floor trapped to various degrees).

Engine Companies did a great job by continuing to extinguish the fire so that the Ladder and SOC Companies could work. I know that L-27 and L-49 worked in the extrication on the side I was on. The SOC Companies that operated included intitially, Rescue 3, Squad 41 and Squad 61. Later arriving Rescue 1 and Rescue 4 assisted them and they were supported by, Rescue 5, Rescue 2, Squad 18, Squad 288 and Squad 252. Squad 1 and Squad 270 also operated at the box, but I am not sure if they were special called later or when they arrived.

NYPD's ESU also supported and helped a great deal with cribbing, generators and other various things needed. The NYPD shut down the ENTIRE corridor to the hospital (blocking all streets) so that the brothers could be transported as fast as possible to the hospital.
